Hanson L. Penn and wife to Christopher Steinman (deed) entered for Record Feby 4th 1851 = Know all men that we Hanson L. Penn and Mary H. Penn wife of said Hanson L. Penn, in consideration of six hundred dollars to us paid by Christopher Steinman the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do bargain, sell and convey to the said Christopher Steinman, his heirs and assigns forever, the following described real estate, viz: A tract of land lying in the County of Brown, Ohio on the waters of White Oak and Straight Creek, being part of a survey of 1000 acres made in the name of William Langburns heirs No. 12568; Beginning at an oak and hickory, the north W. corber of curvey No. 4019;thence N.9"W.122 pole to a maple and Gum, N.E. OF Huron's survey No. 4020; thence with a line of said surveyS. 80" W.96 poles to a stone witnessedby two ashes; thence N.12"W105 poles to a stake in the original line; thence with said line S.63.5 E22 8/10 poles to a leaning hickory, pin oak and a little white, Shaffer's corner in said line; thence with Shaffer's lineS.108 poles to two burr oaks and a pin oak in the line of survey No. 4019; thence with said line N.89 W.64 poles to the beginning, containing one hundred acres be the same more or less. Together with all the priveleges and appurtenaners (sic.) to the same belong. To have and to hold the same to the said Christopher Steinman his heirs and assigns forever, the said Hanson L. Penn for himself, heirs executors and administrators do hereby covenant with the said Christopher Steinman his heirs and assigns, that the title so conveyed is clear free and unincumbered; and to warrant and define the same against all claims whatsoever. In witness whereof the said Hanson L. Penn together with Mary H. Penn wife of the said Hanson L. Penn, who hereby releases all her right of do(sic.) in the said premises has hereunto set their hands and seals this 23rd day of December in the year eighteen hundred and fifty (scribbles) Hanson L. Penn (seal) mary H. Penn (seal), Signed, sealed and delivered in presince (sic.) of George H. Penn, C.H. Reed. State of Ohio, Brown County S.S.

Be it remembered, that on this 23rd day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty, before minister subscriber, a justice of the Peace, within and for said County personally came Hanson L. Penn and mary H. Penn, the grantors in the above conveyance and acknowledged the signing and sealing thereof to be their voluntary act and deed for the uses and therein maintained. And the said Mary H. Penn, wife of Hanson L. Penn being examined by me separate and apart from her said husband, and the contents of said deed being by me made known and explained to her as the Statute directs, declared that she did voluntarily sign, seal and acknowledge the same, and that she is still satisfied therewith as her act and deed for the uses and purposes therein maintained. In testimony whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal of office on the day and year last aforesaid.
