Susie McCawley Wyckoff was born near Lucasville, Ohio, on April 12, 1876, and at the age of 45 years, 5 months and 21 days, she passed into the Great Beyond. She departed this life in the evening of the day of October 3rd. In her youth, she heeded the call of the Divine Master and was united with the Christian Union church at Elm Grove and sought always to follow in His way, doing deeds of kindness, mercy and charity until the Master said, "Well done."
Her life, pure as the flowers that bedecked her casket; her disposition, to live to make others happy; her heart devoted to her loved ones offer each of us an incentive to follow in her footsteps.
Among those who now know the keenness of parting are her husband, three sons and six daughters. The family circle has again been invaded; another link in the chain has been broken, but while mother has left us to join that great army of the redeemed beside the Savior of man, her spirit and helpfulness will live on, teaching all that a noble life is crowned with eternal happiness.
Buried at Piketon, close beside the resting place of her two infant sons, we leave our friend, comrade, devoted wife and mother, only adding in conclusion, because Christ reigns, we shall meet again. Farewell.
